Weinacker's at University

We have combined the Montessori philosophy with the Funshine Express curricula at this school. The Montessori influence is still very evident in the classrooms and the basic Montessori lessons are still taught. We have added the Fireflies and Buttercups curricula to give the children a taste of how lessons will feel when they enter the “big kids” school. Extracurricular enrichment is available weekly at the school through Debbie’s Dance. These activities can help students develop self- confidence and increase awareness of their physical being. These activities will improve coordination skills and develop muscles.

Meet the Head of School | Jasimin McCants

I grew up in Mobile, Alabama and began working at Weinacker’s Montessori – Hillcrest campus in October of 2020. I am typically a bubbly personality and genuinely care about the littles ones in my care. Children are a joy to my heart and make each day so much better. I am a proud mother myself of one son, Jhase who is currently seven years old. We have a great team at the Hillcrest campus that truly feels like family. My goal is to make sure that each child receives the best care and love that they all deserve. I have always worked in the infant room, though I have helped out in every age group. Currently, I am the assistant director. Working with children is my passion, especially in the early stages of development. I am excited to work with our current and future families. I love my job! Thank you for allowing me to get to know each of you and your children!

Toddler Teacher

Julia Mullvain

Hi! My name is Julia Mullvain, but everyone here knows me as Ms. Julia. I’ve been teaching toddlers for three years, and I truly love this age group. Watching them grow, gain confidence, and discover new things every day is one of the best parts of my job. This year, my main goals for our class are to work on potty training, help the children build independence, and support them as they learn how to make friends. I want them to feel proud of what they can do on their own and comfortable trying new things. I also believe that learning how to communicate, share, and build friendships is just as important as anything else we do in the classroom. I really value strong relationships with families, and I want you to always feel comfortable coming to me. If you ever have questions, concerns, or just want to check in, please know that my door is always open. I’m excited for a wonderful year together and can’t wait to watch your children grow!

Rema

Hello, lovely parents! My name is Rema, and I’m so excited to be part of your little ones’ lives here at school! I’ve been in the childcare world since 2009 and absolutely adore working with children of all kinds. I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids myself, so I know just how special each child is! I create fun and engaging indoor and outdoor spaces to inspire creative play because I believe that playtime is the best time! Whether it’s helping with their basic needs like feeding and dressing or just having fun during playtime, I’m here to support your little ones every step of the way. Before this wonderful journey in childcare, I worked as a secretary for diplomats in Saudi Arabia. Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else but nurturing and guiding the bright futures of our children! I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of your sweet kids!
